ALSO i thought. when aliss said she killed her friend but only because her friend was going to kill her, and that she'd never even shot a gun before, and then it's revealed that when you kill the host the creature goes behind you instead, i was like aha! something about this doesn't add up! because if the best friend is the only one she's killed, then she must have had the creature behind her at the time, in which case--why did she attack aliss in the first place? half the deaths were from being behind the creature, and the other half were laser fire because of the paranoia that someone had the creature behind them. people killed each other to "get rid of it". so if the creature was behind you, why would you try to kill someone with your bare hands? why are you attacking someone if it's behind you? if she thought aliss had the creature behind HER (and she also didn't have her gun) her attacking aliss make sense, but otherwise...? so either aliss had it behind her already (hypothetically meaning she had already killed someone) or. why did her friend attack her? general paranoia is possible, but it feels funny, no?

aliss also knew something was behind her, and the way she talked about it feels to me like it had already killed people (it is possible she just knew it was behind her bc she'd already seen what had happened, but the whole "there's always something behind me" just feels. hmm) so like. what i'm saying is it just doesn't quite add up.

either she did kill someone else, who had it behind them, and the best friend tried to kill her because of it, in which case she isn't quite as innocent as portrayed (i don't necessarily think that makes her bad, the whole point is that this is what the creature does to people and i'm not judging aliss here) or like. something else is wrong here. right? like idk if i'm putting this to words right or maybe i'm just missing something obvious but to me it just felt off.

one possibility thinking is maybe there's more than one (or it can be in more than one place/behind more than one person at once, though in either case not sure why they didn't mess with them using this if that was the case, unless they were planning for stealth for this exact reason?). not sure exactly how that would work, but it would, albeit confusingly, fill the hole of why aliss's friend would have seen something behind her if she had it behind her--although it doesn't explain how it was behind aliss in the first place if it only transfers when you kill someone, meaning either aliss did kill someone (everyone died of either CreatureKillsThemItis or laser fire, and she explicitly said she'd never fired a gun before killing her best friend, and i assumed her best friend was the penultimate death considering she was literally right there, although it's possible she wasn't--but she also explicitly says "She tried to kill me with her bare hands", not with a gun? feels really specific considering they seemed to imply that everyone either died via CreatureKillsThemItis with the broken bones or laser fire) or that the creature doesn't ONLY transfer hosts when you kill, since it is a game player--meaning that isn't a hard-and-fast-rule but literally just it messing with them, not something it feels compelled to do consistently.

and if that's so, then it's weird shaya's trick worked in the place--i already thought it was a bit odd that she didn't have to actually kill belinda but... almost kill her? or the bullet goes through her into the midnight creature? i was kind of unclear on that, but if it's a compulsion--the creature has to jump to a new host when their host dies--that kinda makes sense, abandoning ship from a dying host to make sure there's still someone to hide behind and play games with, but if not, i guess it's still part of the game??

AND LIKE. if there is more than one, it explains why belinda felt sure there was something behind her and it "visibly" transferred to shaya, but there is still potentially something behind mo back on the ship (there's something on your back--cmon, we were all thinking it the whole episode, right?). it could even be there's more than two--the doctor successfully "killed" one, another got thrown in the well, and another rode out. this actually even fits with how everyone's been dead for a while, and they all went mad so quickly--if there wasn't just one hot potato of death being passed from person to person, but a more widespread like. it happening all over all at once rather than one guy at a time. not that that couldn't have worked, especially in crowded areas, we saw how fast it devolved with seemingly only one person "contaminated" as it was, and with only thirty something people that's definitely still possible, but. idk! idk

i'm definitely overthinking this, i just feel like something's not adding up. not necessarily in a plot hole way so much as in a loose ends or "this is going to come back and bite us later" or "i MISSED SOMETHING" way. it is also possible that i'm just stupid

It wasn't immediate and must have built over time but I believe there was some ambiguity between them at some point. Two teenagers alone in a rooftop still learning about themselves and relationships and how they feel have that obligatory phase when they misinterpret their own feelings as something else. Or maybe one really has a slight crush, who knows. In any case it must have been quite something.

If it was Rui maybe he didn't even realised how he felt back then. If it was Mizuki she must have panicked so bad. If both then... The comedic potential of that situation is endless.

Also they lost likely kiss once on that rooftop and never broight it back again. Until today they never discussed it they both have a silent agreement to bury that memory in the depths of their mind and treat it like confidential information that can be leaked or it'll cause the end of the world.

My perception of them aside I just love how. How they exist in canon they drive me insane since I know they know eachother. Yeah because I didn't knew at first and the first time I saw them interact was an area conversation so I stayed confused for a good minute before I understood and then it was over.

I love how they don't really talk often anymore but you can feel in every of their conversation or mention of eachother how strong their relationship still is. Idk, they just give me that sense of comfort. They care for eachother and they'll support the other the best they can (I'm thinking of Rui during picnic event or in his side sorry, or Mizuki during sports festival, or Mizuki Hermit side story, or-) and it's so wholesome I gonna explode. (So in the end Rui made something explode. I guess.)

To answer your question about what I feel when I'm attracted to a woman. Well, it usually starts out with me thinking she's pretty or cute. I usually feel a desire to talk to her but can't always find out what to say because I don't want to embarrass myself. When I was in high school, I actually used to look up conversation starters because I was so terrified of winging the convo. What made you ship it? Honestly, I can't entirely remember? I never was much into rare pairs before the ml fandom but this one just seemed fun--it's the first one I think I read in the fandom. I love the vibes. I think I probably just saw people talking about it so I clicked a few fics and quickly went 👀👀👀. But writing I Don't Believe In Umbrellas is what made me head over heels, kicking and screaming and giggling obsessed with them.

What are your favorite things about the ship? I think the way they balance each other out. Marinette is chaotic and warm and brings Kagami out of her shell. Kagami isn't afraid to tell her when she's being ridiculous but she also goes along with her shenanigans because Marinette makes her soft and kajefbkdjf. It's just such a fun dynamic.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Idk if this counts as an unpopular opinion but I'm really picky about the Marigami I'll read--and I don't consider myself a picky reader normally. A lot of people just miss the mark for me on characterizing Kagami and I have high expectations 😂

What are your favorite things about the ship? Hands down the way they are both each other's heroes. Like, Marinette couldn't be Ladybug if Alya hadn't inspired her. But Alya looks up to Ladybug so much. (And I like to think in some ways even more once she realizes it's Marinette.)

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Again, not so much an unpopular opinion maybe, but kajfdkjsb I struggle writing them romantically. as a young smeet K was like, insanely tall, so much that I guess she was like... bumped up in her age group that she ended up being around Zim nd Red and Purple and everyone, and for a long time she either exceeded or matched Red and Purple in height... and then one day she just stopped growing, which already made her resent R&P for passing her in height, which was made worse by them making fun of her, I don't really have any details for her early life past that, but when Red and Purple became the Tallest she just kinda snapped and decided that she would refuse to follow them and rebel, so that's what she did, she ended up on a planet as a regular soldier and kinda, blew everyone up I guess, she sabotaged that battle (and her having that thought is probably when she self appointed herself the title Sabotager-K) and talked to whoever the Empire was fighting to like, tell them her whole deal I guess, her rebellion is at first just a result of her grudge against Red and Purple but the more she travels the more she like, enjoys seeing other species and what they create and starts to gain more compassion, even if she looks down on most individuals and considers herself superior, though that starts to fade into less of a trait she has regarding her being Irken and moreso regarding her being herself as she starts to also look down on her own species

so she eventually ends up on earth somehow, I usually think of it as an accident, like she got list or her ships coordinates got messed up and she ended up near this planet that she detected Irken technology on, so she goes to investigate. I feel like she finds Tak's ship first since like it's been stated that its more powerful and detectable than Zim's base haha, she probably suspects Dib is an Invader maybe, but probably only gathers the information that he goes to Skool and then just decides she'll infiltrate that place nd confront him somehow? idk but she comes up with her lil cat hologram disguise, mostly cause she thinks humans are ugly, and a backstory that she was made in this lab or something and successfully joins Dib and Zim's class posing as a weirdly tall cat child, ofc when shes there she's like 'oh, I was wrong about Dib but WOAH Zim's here' but she's like, not really sure what to do, she's successfully fooled everyone with her disguise tho, like her being a cat person is SO distracting that not even Dib suspects her to be an alien, Dib does talk to her abt Zim tho and she says she believes him, and that she thinks she might be able to help expose or defeat him or something, and so later her and Dib and Zim face off in like the woods or smth where K does make a dramatic and theatrical reveal that HA SHE IS AN IRKEN but she still hates the Empire and while she won't help Dib hurt Zim or expose him she'll generally help if it looks like the earth IS in trouble and she wants to take down the Empire, hijinks ensue

K and Zim really start out as enemies I guess, nd K at first really doesn't think much of him, but I guess as her loneliness and feelings of isolation hit her the more she realizes that they have similarities and also, man if anything Zim did was purposeful he'd be a way better rebel than she is, and she just starts enjoying his company and develops feelings for him, which she really doesn't understand or have many words for, but yea, she likes GIR a lot and has a guardian type affection towards him, which she is not hesitant to show, as far as Dib goes she cares about him and is a friend, she thinks he's smart for a child, and since they're on what she perceives as the same 'side' she'll look for confirmation that her actions are 'good' from him, she respects but is a little scared of Gaz and doesn't talk to her much, and she just, doesn't trust Professor Membrane, she can't pinpoint why tho

I've not come up with a whole bunch beyond that, she's incredibly stubborn and won't let go of ANYTHING unless she loses interest in it, she's chaotic and while she's empathetic for an Irken because of her defective nature, she really doesn't have a moral compass and tends to mostly care about herself and the people or things she's come to like, her behaviour and movements are theatrical, or intended to be usually, she's kinda clumsy, she overthinks things A LOT, and she wants those she likes or admires to respect her, and those she doesn't like to fear her

Matssun looks intimidating but he’s really just an idiot + funny person!! He would be a big tease, will initiate PDA but will get really bashful when you try to do it. Matssun is funny and will always pull pranks on you with Makki, and you could turn into a prankster yourself (heh) Although Matssun isn’t big fan of reading or classical music and it shows, maybe it’s good to date your polar opposite (he’d be a Gryffindor) he’s not loud but he can be if he wants. Occasionally you may find him being loud around you (he likes attention from his S/O) but you will grow to love that side of him! Matssun usually shows that he cares by joking around (he just wants you to smile) but he’s quite the observant one so he wouldn’t go too far with his jokes. He’s very clear about boundaries. Matssun is generally a very good natured and fun person to be around, he’s great at supporting people, he knows how to pull your confidence levels up, and will give amazing advice. He’s also amazing at encouragement (although he shows it in his own unique way). Plus, he’s also very good at dealing with blunt comments so he won’t be offended easily, would probably know how to talk back when you offer him a blunt statement.
